Parks and Community Services Mission Statement

It is our mission to Preserve Texas Hill Country for its people and their recreation and leisure, for its history and sense of place, and for its beauty and open spaces.

Dripping Springs is located in Central Texas approximately twenty-three miles west of Austin. The Department currently has 271.29 acres of parkland that serves approximately 23,350 residents in Dripping Springs and the Extra Territorial Jurisdiction (ETJ, aka unincorporated Dripping Springs). The Parks and Community Services Department is home to the Hill Country’s 110 acre Premier Venue, Dripping Springs Ranch Park and the popular Dripping Springs Farmers Market located at Veterans Memorial Park.  Founders Memorial Park and Sports and Rec Park are home to athletic fields, walking and jogging trails, and the Founders Memorial Pool. Charro Ranch Park is a popular location to enjoy nature in a natural setting including walking and jogging trails, bird watching and learning about plants, animals, geology, etc. and for reflection on peace and nature.
