Local Organizations Collaborate with City to Build Bird Viewing Station at Dripping Springs Ranch Park

DRIPPING SPRINGS, TEXAS – December 3, 2018 –  Bird-watching at Dripping Springs Ranch Park (DSRP) is about to get even better thanks to several organizations that are partnering with the City of Dripping Springs to undergo an improvement project.

The Hays County Master Naturalists (HCMN) along with the Dripping Springs Birding Club and Wild Birds Unlimited, Dripping Springs are supporting the construction of a bird viewing station to be built overlooking the pond at DSRP. The new station will be the only local, public structure allowing visitors to enjoy the views over a pond in the Dripping Springs area. A feeder and watering station are also planned adjacent to the station for closer bird-watching and photography experiences.

Respected Austin architect, Juan Cotera, FAIA of Cotera+Reed Architects, has generously donated architectural plans. The total cost of the project is estimated at $8500. The HCMN have donated $3000 to the project and will be contributing labor. The Dripping Springs Birding Club has established a go-fund me page at  to assist with fundraising efforts.

The Hays County Master Naturalist Chapter is also accepting donations for the project. HCMN is a non-profit organization and contributions are tax deductible. Checks can be made to Hays County Master Naturalist Chapter and mailed to:
