City Held Development Code Open House on November 12

Over the next few months, the City of Dripping Springs will continue to make changes to its ordinances that will directly affect contractors and developers. To help communicate the changes that have already been adopted and provide information related to those to come, the City held a Development Code Update Open House on Tuesday, November 12, for all contractors and developers doing business with the City.

The City’s Planning and Development Department gave a broad overview of the Development Code changes that were adopted in September and gave a status report on upcoming Ordinance revisions including those to Water Quality Protection, Exterior Design and Parkland Dedication. The department shared a draft of the new City of Dripping Springs Development Manual. This is the first time the city has put together a comprehensive development manual.

Then the City’s Building Department went over changes in adopted codes, including Building, Plumbing, Electrical and Fire. Many of the current building codes that were adopted in 2012 will be updated.

You can find documents referenced at the open house on our Building Department Page.
