DRIPPING SPRINGS, TEXAS –July 24, 2017- To help Dripping Springs families in need find relief from life threatening heat, fan distributions will happen every Friday through the end of August. The initial distribution is set for this Friday, July 28, from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., at the Helping Hands Pantry, located at 28900 Ranch Road 12.
Several local nonprofit organizations including Dripping Springs Helping Hands, The Friends Foundation and the Hill Country Senior Activity Center have teamed up with the Family Eldercare Summer Fan Drive program to host the event. The City of Dripping Springs’ Emergency Management Commission is also supporting these efforts.
There are income and age eligibility requirements for this program. Recipients must be over age 55 or be disabled and receiving disability benefits or be in a household with children under 18 years of age. Recipients must also have an income at or below 200% of the federal poverty guidelines. Proof of income and a photo ID must also be presented. For those wishing to help the cause, fan donations to Family Eldercare will be accepted at the Hill Country Senior Activity Center, located at 1310 West Highway 290, during their normal business hours of 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.
The Hill Country Senior Activity Center also opens its doors to anyone who needs a cool place to stay during the center’s operating hours. There is no age or income limitation on this hospitality.
